What I love about Georgetown

This is a picture taken by Keith of the C&O Canal which is just half a block away from the Keith Lipert Gallery

I had moved to Georgetown in 1989 after having lived in New York City since 1980 (before that born and raised in London). In Georgetown I found a wonderful combination of the America I love and a familiarity with the London I grew up in.

I love the great mix of people that I meet here in my shop from the diplomats, the journalists, the business people, the restaurateurs,  senators and congressman, and visitors both local and from all over the world who pass through our village. It is as if we live in a village – but in a village that is at the heart of all the action in the middle of the big city.

I love that Georgetown has beautiful lined streets, wonderful parks, the Waterfront at the Potomac, and the beautiful C&O Canals just a block away from the shop.

I love that fact that I get to be apart of this amazing vibrant community. I love the conversations that go on both in the store and out and that I get to share these conversations with people from all over the world – something I hope to extend to this blog.
